Security is built into the core of SelfLedger. Your password is irreversibly cryptographically hashed using industry-standard bcrypt before it is stored in our database. Uploaded files are stored in a protected, isolated directory that cannot be accessed without valid session authentication. We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data to third parties.
We do not store or process your credit card information on our servers. All subscription payments are handled directly by Stripe, a secure, PCI-compliant third-party payment processor. Stripe acts as a sub-processor of your data solely for the purpose of handling billing.
Under UK GDPR, you have the "Right to be Forgotten." We have built this directly into the platform. You may permanently delete your account, transaction history, and vaulted files at any time by navigating to your Account Settings and confirming your password. This action is instantaneous and irreversible.
